Previous Charities of the month

Dogs4Rescue

Dogs4Rescue is an independent dog rescue center. The dogs spend their days getting all the exercise, socialisation, stimulation, love and care that they need while waiting for their forever homes.

Many prospective adopters worry that rescue dogs are feral, undisciplined and destructive. Dogs4Rrescue aims to change these common misconceptions. Something that makes Dogs4Rescue extra special is their partnerships with worldwide dog rescue groups in areas such as Cyprus, Romania, Bulgaria and many places across the globe that have trouble with stray dogs, even as far as Afghanistan.

The evidence is growing to suggest that dogs become stressed by standard rescue kennel facilities. And this stress can lead to behavioral problems that weren’t present prior to their incarceration. It is not surprising that stressed dogs act out of character and do not give the best ‘first impression’ to visitors.

Unlike typical rescue kennels, which are loud, busy, stressful places that are not conducive to a happy re-homing experience, Dogs4Rescue lets the dogs shine. Dogs4Rescue are solely funded by profits from our Daycare 4 Dogs dog crèche together with a variety of fundraising efforts and the golden paw club. Our team of committed staff, customers and followers have all contributed towards this by organising car boots, sponsored sleepovers, marathons, fun days and cake stalls.

We here at Shencoh were more than happy to help with this cause. the R&D specialist team are all dog lovers and it was a real joy to help our best friends find the secure homes they needed. We love working towards helping people get the R&D tax credits they deserve and we here at Shencoh are happy to branch out to other species and help them, not with their R&D tax claims, but in any way we can. We hope all the dogs at Dogs4Rescue find a loving home.

#MakeMayPurple for Stroke Association

This charity was nominated by our colleagues as the main charity to support for the Month of May.

Every May in the UK is stroke awareness month and this year the Stroke Association have a nationwide mission to #MakeMayPurple, in honor of those who have suffered from a Stroke in the past. Not only does the colour purple and the month of tribute to this cause raise huge awareness for the charity but all donations; but the money raised goes towards aftercare plans for those who have survived a stroke and much needed support for their loved ones. The work behind #MakeMayPurple is teaching stroke sufferers valuable rehabilitation skills and helping them to regain their independence. Another wonderful influence from this charity is the awareness raised about spotting when someone is experiencing a stroke and knowing how to address the situation, which is helping to save lives each and every day. We made a cash donation of £422.50 to this charity.

Shencoh not only share the same colour of purple but we also share the same cause as some of our R&D specialists team have been effected as friends and family have had strokes and the awareness of not only what to do when a stroke happens but the awareness of how to prevent one is greatly important to us.
